The Book

When Janet Gibson started writing In My Heart This Morning on Facebook in 2015, she had a humble goal: Encourage at least one person every day.

But what began with divine guidance turned into so much more. From the myriad responses she received from people in all walks and stages of life, and the sisterhood of widows, Janet knew she had a responsibility to keep the “heart thoughts” going every morning.

In a new book, Janet shares what prompted her to write the morning posts, her journey of grief, healing, and finding love again. Out of thousands of writings, she chose to include 100, touching on themes as diverse as kindness, gratitude, empathy, strength, vulnerability, resilience … life.

The paperback includes stunning photography by Cindy Burnham, Janet’s longtime partner in creative adventures while working for newspapers and magazines. Cindy’s images and Janet’s inspiring words from the book also are featured in a line of greeting cards.

In a world that can sometimes be dark and unpredictable, In My Heart This Morning: 100 days of encouragement shines a light on the wonder and beauty in and around each of us.
